I was having some serious issues with my a week ago. Come to find out there is a cable attached to my PCM unit with a dial on the end that goes from 1-6. Only one number works on this that allows my car to run normal.
If it is on any other number the car barely idles and the CE light is on. As I found out after my 3 year old daughter was playing with it.......:/ I did not even realize it was there.
Also, if the number has been changed, I can not pull any codes from the PCM. I am not sure if this disables it or what.

I have tracked the cable to the PCM and the switch comes in behind my glove box as you can see if the links below.

Maybe someone with a TweeCar can confirm/deny.

Looks like you have an aftermarket chip with a knob for different settings.

Surprised he hasn't posted. He told me that the wires lead to his fuse box (I think thats where it was anyway) That wouldn't be a sct setup going to that

Yeah, I have the exact same thing on my Cobra. That's the switch that comes with the SCT 4-bank eliminator switch. Positions 1-3 are reserved for three separate tunes, position four is your stock tune, and 5-6 (or 7 in the case of my chip) are all anti-theft non-running positions. The tune will be on the third position if the chip has only one tune programmed into it.

lol nice try, I am a computer guy and know a little about viruses lol.

Well at least I have an idea now. But on mine only the 3-4 appear to work. I do not know it was initially set up. Is there a PC interlink cable??

Awesome...you guys are right on the money as always. It is exactly what I got. So how do these work? Do you plug them into your PC to custom tune or how do these work??

Thanks

The PCM is oriented in such a way that the harness is at the bottom as it is bolted into the car. There is a hole on the top side on which is a plastic cover. This plastic cover is removed to reveal an extra set of contacts on the circuit board. The chip plugs into this, and the selector switch plugs into the chip. The SCT eliminator chips have tunes preloaded. The only way to change the tune is to remove the chip. I don't know if you can use the SCT X-Cal on their eliminator chips.

Yeah defeinetly a SCT chip. Ive had the instructions for that cable sitting on my desk for a few months.. no time for my car except when my quarters end and have a week off

anyways...
The sct chip with the flip switch will allow you to select between the stock tune and 3 other tunes. unless otherwise programmed. So position is stock, and the second is your tune.

anyone ever mount theres and where?

I described where and how to install the chip in the post above yours.

Ah. I ran mine behind the glove box and into the center console. I removed the ash tray and it's right in there.

There does not appear to be any pre programmed tunes.

0-2 disabled PCM, 3-4 work but appear to be the same tune, 5-6 disable the pcm.

Is it possible it was just never tuned, or was it wiped out??
