Go to put gas can in hatch area, some back up e85, and see the driver side shock mount cover laying there. Then see that the bar is sticking up bout 1.5-2 inches above opening. Looking at passenger side, there is def a difference in hardware. The stance looks even from the rear.

What is suppose to keep the bar from coming up through mounting point? Seems like maybe something underside wise stripped out, allowing the bar to come into cab.

That looks like the washer on the upper shock shaft has failed allowing the threaded portion of the shock shaft to pass through the hole.

Should be a large rubber and larger steel washer on both top and bottom of the shaft where the shock mounts. Your bottom steel washer is gone or failed. Or the ridge on the shock shaft that holds them in place has failed allowing them to fall down.

Is it odd to have different hardware on it from side to side? Has single nut on passenger side, then two on driver side. Maybe for easier adjustment, since car was set up for road racing.

Probably double nutted because they didn't bother to put both rubber bushing in. Given the gap between the two nuts, I would say no rubber bushings were used. Fix that and all should be good.

No rubber mounts on underside, looks like the shaft forced its way through. Has some uneven rub marks going on as well. Used a washer on the shaft to keep it from going through again. Will look into some rubber spacers for underside. Gotter back together so she can be driven. Stereo is coming up this week.

That's a coil over right? That's a shock of a different type.

Yea thats a coil over, disregard what I posted..No rubber in that...They should have some special upper mount, your has failed. Why I have no clue....Are they cheap coilovers? If so they're crap. No such thing as quality cheap coilovers.

Yes, coil overs. Bilstein shocks, not sure of the coil over brand though. The aluminum top mount is very "soft" feeling. Will look into some new ones.
