What the hell is wrong with my speedometer

My speedometer starts twitching whenever I go about 60+ and after a while it will just twitch more and more till it just falls to 0. I checked the speedometer gear and it was fine. I bought a new speedometer motor that spins the speedometer needle and it still does it. The "new" speedometer motor I bought was used so I guess theres a chance it could be that.
I went to ford and they are charging $295 for a new cluster, so that's out of the question. And they dont just sell the motors.

btw. I had to drive 2 hours and spend $20 bucks to get this damn motor so if it is the problem I just may start shootin

My speedo acted the same way. I went to the salvage yard and for 75 bucks I got another one. I still have it as I switched over to a Cobra cluster. I know this is not the classified but if you want to buy it you can PM me. I think the odometer is at around 81K.

Thanks for the offer but im not sure if i'm ready to buy another cluster yet.
Is there anyway it could be some electrical problem like in the wires that connect the speedometer gear to the instrument box?
