What the rpm limit?

Since alot of companys are making cams for the 2 valve that will pull up to 7000+ rpm I'm wondering what the stock motor can take as far as rpm is concerened.

Probably 6300. You are going to need a better crank to get it to around 7000. Internals wouldn't hurt either.

I thought we lost power after 5500 anyways?

My 2001 GT can be taken up to 6,500 rpm. I have never experienced a problem.

Thats with the stock cams. Cams are the main reason for a cars powerband and rpm range. The vt engine cams pull to like 6500 and the stage 2 vt engine cams pull to 7000.
