what does a 94-95 gt auto run in the quarter, I know that a 5speed will run a 14.9 stock but I cant find anything about the autos. And how well would a converter and gears benefit an auto trannied 94-95 gt, want to know cuz im looking to get another 94-95 gt.

Thanks josh

with a bone stock sn95 auto your look to run mid to upper 15's im guessing. the auto's not only weigh more, the auto tranny eats up more power, is harder to 60ft espically with stock gears and just doesnt make fast enough shifts. with an upgraded converter, shift kit, and some gears you will be able to get into the 14's with good driving.

stall, even if your stock, don't go less than 3000. WHY? Well cause if,not if, but when you upgrade parts, you already have a good stall. Speaking from experience, I ran a 15.5 bone stock at 94mph. Keep in mind I have a vert which is even worse. I've seen bone stock aode coupes run a best time of 15.2, I haven't seen anyone else do better. I think my times were pretty good as well. But more or less you're looking at that.

i ran a 14.711 with an aode coupe that had 3.73s, a shift kit, h-pipe and flows. you'll probably get low 15s like Nacho said. if you get used to the car you'll be able to get pretty consistent times

Good info, but a little deceiving.... as you upgrade parts and produce more power your stall changes. I had my stall built for a H/C/I car. Mine stalls around 2,600 currently with my stock engine. Once I put heads and a cam on the car it should stall closer to 3,000. In all honesty, one needs to make out a plan, or risk throwing away some cash. When I put the Cobra intake on the car, my powerband moved up..... this KILLED my launch off the bottle. I was forced to ditch the stock stall converter.

I am really impressed with my www.edgeracingconverters.com Street Edge stall. It's one of the better priced custom built ones. I personally wouldn't trust an off the shelf converter.... seems to me they would be a shot in the dark on what they would actually stall up to on anyone's car that is no longer stock.

Exactly. Paul, that's what I was trying to get at. As your combo becomes more 'aggressive' the higher stall you "need". Of course, with an all stock engine, your car won't stall to the given 3000rpm, but as you upgrade you parts, it'll get closer allowing you to launch harder and take advantage of your power curve since it tends to move up after several changes.

Oh, and edge would be my first choice. Thye build a custom one for your car and take into consideration your future mods. Not only that but it's a 100% guarantee you'll love it, if not, they'll reimburse you everything. Oh, and they can also upgrade it for you for cheap if you need to.

:nice: Just trying to clear it up. Makes me cringe when people say they are looking for a used 3,000 stall for XXXX tranny. Some don't get the fact that a 3,000 stall could stall higher or lower in their vehicle. I've seen people bash the seller saying they ripped them off, when in fact they just lack education about stalls. :nonono:

Can someone explain to me- why a higher power car will stall higher than a lower hp car? Shouldnt the car be making more power, so it locks up the converter earlier?
Why does it take more RPMS to lockup a converter on a higher hp car?
Thanks gusy
