what to clean mac cai filter???

should i use the k&n cleaner? its what i have in the toolbox right now, just wondering if it needed the oil also?

That is what I used on mine. I figured the media is cotton gauze like a K&N, so why not. I dont think the media fell out or melted since then....

Sorry to not definitively know. I had some reason to believe this was right, but I am not sure if I looked on their site or got info from here or what.

I agree, thats what I think I would do in the same situation.

k&n says to only use their cleaner and oil, big suprise. however, it is pretty cheap. i got the "recharger kit" at pep boys for $8 with the cleaner and oil just last week. it works pretty good and i have enougth to do it at least once more. for the price i say just go with the k&n stuff and you won't have any problems.
