Just got my hands on an old 98 GT. I had a 99, but I know there are differences with this engine, so what should I look into doing to the car. It's still stock down to the air silencer, and only has 26000 miles on it. I'm thinkin intake, TB, plenum, and then headers, x and catback. What else, after I get all that done, I'll look into a supercharger or something, but just wondering what other "bolt ons" people do with this year of a car..

Add a set of 4.10-4.30 gears and save up for a nice centrifugal supercharger.

gears, shifter, and save for a KB blower.

I have a shifter in mine and would like a KB and gears. It's a daily driver though, and gas is expensive enough.

Wow, didn't even think about gears. Good one.. What shifter is everyone using? I have a pro 5.0 in my Cobra, but the new MGW one looks nice too

it depends if you do want a s/c.

basic PI headswap with stock internals with a blower isn't a good idea.

So not a great idea to supercharge a 98? Also, what manifold is a good one to use?

it's a perfectly fine idea to supercharge a '98, just not with pi heads on it due to a higher compression ratio.

No, it's a fine idea, you just won't reap the benefits as much as you would with a '99-up without the head swap (and intake if you decide to use a centrifugal blower). Swapping the heads on a '96-'98 bumps the compression ratio up into the 10.4:1 range. This combined with the already sub-par strength of the stock bottom end doesn't exactly make them ideal for supercharging after the swap. But you'll still turn out decent numbers without....just not as good as a '99-up.

Do a P&P headswap and stick on a 100 shot NX. Rumour has it you'll be in the 12's.

See my sig for suggestions. My car is fun to drive now and has the power I need. (Not what I want.)

If I wanted to do the FRPP PI heads and Bullet intake, what are the "additional modifications and parts" I would need?
