What to do with $500

3.73's or 4.10's will get you into the 14's with not much of a 1st gear. Buy my 3.55's for less money than "brand" new. And get nitrous in the classifieds and get into the mid 13's!!!!!!

I agree with gears. 3.73's for a 5 speed. 4.10's for an auto. Although I'll prolly put 3.73's in my auto. Unless I'm in a "good" mood, the day they are installed. (I have both.)

Out side of gears, though. Headers and a used nitrous set-up would be good. 190/255 lph fuel pump might be good, too. That kills your $500. Hope you're doing the installs. :):):):):)

Lower it... $140 for FMS springs and $250ish for some shocks/struts...

Then if the budget allows do something with your rear 4-link bars....

Outside of that subframe connectors, underdrive pulleys, etc.

But gears are also a major one. Buy FMS gears and do them yourself in a weekend... I wsh I had done this..

If you would rather focus on motor mods .............

I think nitrous would be the mod that would give you the most performance compared to steeper gears.

Of course, with gears you don't have the recurring cost of bottle fills.

Since you have already addressed the mid pipe ...........

An intake ... intake manifold ... would give you a nice gain.

Don't expect much of a gain from:

roller rockers
throttle body
pulleys
maf
cai

True ... each will give a small gain
but
buy them all and you will have spent the same or close to the same amount of money as opposed to choosing a more effective gain part like mid pipe or intake.

Example .......

1) go for rockers and tb first
or
2) go for intake manifold first

If you do 2 first, the oem rockers & tb will work just fine with the upgraded intake and the gain from the intake with the #1 oem parts is gonna be more than the gain you would have obtained from example 1.

Good Luck which ever way you go :)

Knowing what I know now deffinatly a quality harmonic balancer. Depending on brand it can cost close to $350, then use the rest of the money for a complete fluid swap (rear end, tranny, brake fluid, power streering). I went with Professional Products non SFI balancer as it's good for 6,500 rpm and only cost me (including the spacer that you need) $109 to my door. That and some u/d pullies you should have enough to swap out all fluids and full tune up.

LOL
I know, i'm such a stickler. :D
I just thought, you know... give the guy something to really look forward to. $500... I mean, come on, let's face it, you can spend that on repairs if you're not careful :)

I've been here, there...
still working on my project and actively looking for a new job has kept me REALLY busy. :(

I personally don't have the $2500 to spend on upgrades at the moment :D

how've you been holdin up?

I would say if you dont go with gears or nitrous, put the money back in your pocket till you come up with a plan for the car and some more coin. JMO
