Does any one know the paint codes for the under hood colors on a 1993 mustang lx? I have checked with several paint vendors. Paint code is PD. The under hood color is not the base color it looks like a standard dark green with no met.

Mine is body color and you can look at the progress at the cardomain site. I think the glossy colors are better than satin on keeping them clean.

Also, if you have gone to all that measure to chrome/powdercoat everything, why go back with the satin black?

I would vote for white with the blue stripes on the firewall. Second choice would be the a blue engine bay with no stripes on the firewall.

How about satin black main color and then continue your stripes with a gloss black or vice/versa...

upon seeing pics of engines....

The brace from the shock towers to the firewall....it looks like some peoples are bolting in. Mine is welded to the top of the shock tower, then has a piece that bolts to the welded in piece, then bolts to the firewall. Is that how it is suppose to be?

It sounds like you're describing the factory two-piece firewall brace on your car, as opposed to the Export Brace shown in the above photo.

phew....thread resurrected!!

as an update:

I stripped the engine bay, cut out the shock towers and started welding up all of the holes. I am installing a scotts hot rod front end. coughIamadealerforthemnowandwillgiveadiscounttostangnetmemberscough

I am painting the engine bay the same color as the body and continuing my body stripes on the firewall and radiator support. The front suspension is complete powdercoated chrome. Should look pretty sweet this summer.

Now, if I could only finish getting my engine built.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
