I hate to beat this dead horse anymorebut I might be using a reman. engine that came with cast pistons (this shows 'ya how uber cheap these companys do stuff because its a '87 fact. roller cam block). I am going to replace all the fasteners with ARP stuff, after market alum. heads right out of the box, and a comp cams thumper cam. I'm going to have the rotaing assembly balanced when I purchase the flexplate and balancer...the car is going to stay N/A, and on the current pistons the compression ratio in the end would end up being about 9~9.25:1...my question comes down to this: when I balance the rotaing assembly am I ok to keep my cast pistons or since with alum. heads I can bump my compression to 10:1 on 93 octane and get a few more HP should I swap out my pistons for hypers (+$200) or forged (+$400)?????? In my application would forged reap big benifits over hyper????

I run approx 10:1 comp on 93 octane with 20 degrees of timing, albeit I'm running rich.

Well, I pretty much decided that I'm gonna' get new pistons 1) to get my compression ratio up a littler higher and 2) I'm gonna' get a new crank and increase stroke just a tad. I'm gonna' at least get a good set of hypers like keith black silvolite's...am I making a big compromise or should I go forged?

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
