stock is 2 peice unit and the replacements are 1. used to be able to order fill piece that would allow you to convert the slot for the lower unit to storage. cant find this anymore. anyone have found any other solutions other than blank fill piece?

Metra still makes the pocket to fill the whole or get a piece of ABS and make a panel for switches etc.

You need a dash pocket. When I ordered a new head unit from Crutchfield, they included one free of charge. You can order it from them here:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7yOWiydL8wW/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=120889000

Their webpage doesn't mention anything about fitting a Ford but it seems to be a pretty universal kit. It fits fine in my 96 Cobra. You might give them a call to be sure.

Edit: I found the paperwork that came with my dash pocket but it says it only fits 94-98 Mustangs. It is made by Metra so I'm sure they make one that fits your model. Give Crutchfield a call. They are very helpful.

look at a wrecking yard or ebay for a wrecked convertible without mach...they have covers that go over where the speakers should be.
