What type of thread sealer do I need to use for my lower head studs? I just want to make sure if there is a specific type, so I dont screw up again... thanks guys
I used ARP thread sealer on my lower head bolts. It will seal threads from any fluids (essentially). I used it on everything that needed sealed (except vac fittings on intake) fuel pressure regulator, flywheel bolts, tranny plugs, heater tube, etc. It's also designed to be a lubricant for accurate torque readings and it never hardens. (Damn, you'd think that I worked for ARP (I don't))
you can also find the same stuff at Advanced Auto....it's in a small white tube and is a non-hardening teflon thread sealer (or something like that). I have both in the garage, the ARP stuff and the Advanced Auto stuff and they appear to be the same (just different packaging)
