Yes from 87-93 they are called foxbodys. In 93 they made the LX, GT, and the Cobra. Is this what you are asking for?

not to mension that in 87 the entire interior of the car was completley changed. I can't stand the elbowed shifters they put in the 87-93's..., i think they are in the newr body style as well. I prefer a straight shifter.

The OFFICIAL, internal (Ford Motor Company) 'codename' for the platform/chassis that the '79-'93 Mustang was built upon is Fox. If you must say "Fox ____" it would be "Fox platform" or "Fox chassis". It is not Fox body, Foxbody, or Fox3. It was a common platform or chassis, not a common body.

Other vehicles built on the same (some with longer or shorter wheelbase, length, etc. than others) platform/chassis are:

Ford Fairmont '78-'83
Ford Fairmont Futura '79-'82
Ford Granada '80-'82
Ford LTD '82-'85
Ford Thunderbird '80-'88
Lincoln Continental '82-'87
Lincoln Mark VII '84-'92
Mercury Capri '79-'86
Mercury Cougar '80-'88
Mercury Marquis '82-'85
Mercury Zephyr '78-'83

Hey FoxChassis! I was about to post about the "chassis, not body" thing, saw your post-to-end-all-posts, looked to see who posted it, and was not suprised at all that it's good ole' FoxChassis from MustangGTregistry ( www.mustanggt.org ).... the man who is an encyclopedia of Mustang knowlege!

<< knew this.

Fox Body is pretty much slang, although wrong in most intensive purposes. A typical 347 actually measures out to a 343 if you do the rod/stroke math and all that, but everyone calls it a 347 because that's what it's known as. Just my .02 cents.

Well did you also know that '86 was not the first year for EFI on the 5.0L? '84 and '85 CFI is EFI. Says so right on the air filter housing.

'83 was actually the first year for EFI but not on the 5.0L. ('83 GT Turbo was EFI and '83 3.8L V6 was CFI.) '84 GT Turbo and '84-'86 SVO were also EFI. As was the '84-'86 3.8L V6 (CFI).

CFI, MPFI, SEFI, TBI, TPI....it's all EFI.

details details details. I dont even regaurd CFI as existing, but again you're right, although it's not the same style EFI as i was talking about, since it still relies on a carb style setup.
