p.s. ronstang94, don't forget killer canary's time of 12.03 wit h293rwhp... I think that tells you right there that your goal will be something to be proud of and set you back in your seat!

My thinking is that "king of the street" is more about torque and low end power. Area under the curve of the power band is what makes a car fast. NOBODY has won a race based on peak horsepower, average horse power moves the car down the track. When you're on the street, you need the power NOW. There is not time to wait for a turbo to spool or for your RPM to climb 4K.

Paul's car didn't have the peak power of some of these combos but his power band didn't look like the washington monument either. You can see the advantage of a custom cam, tune, and matched setup. Any bozo can get 500rwhp easily, its the guy that can drive it and plant it that wins.

My uncle brad has a 10 second grand national that leaves like a sledge hammer off of a transbrake. The first time I drove it I ran a 13.xxx.

Thats why I said earlier... it depends.

Most stock lt1s? you dont need 300rwhp to beat near stock lt1s! i would whoop on all the local LT1's around town that had exhaust mods, when all i had was a Full exhaust myself.

i would say if you can drive pretty well and have a good suspension then 460rwhp will get you in the 10s. most street cars do not run 10s. drew with the yellow 94 gt with a stout 347 went 10.70s n/a in street trim. he put 463 to the ground out of his 347. theres blown cars out there that will put those numbers but will not run that in the 1/4. how much hp is only a number if you cant get it to the pavement in my opinion. its all in the driver when it comes down to it.

You can be the best driver in the world and not be able to run 10s with 600rwhp if the car isn't setup to do it.

In the end if you want to see how fast a car really is just look at its trap speed in the quarter. That will tell how fast a car really is whether it's setup for the track or not.
