what will remove this

I was wondering what you guys recomend to remove this paint without ruining the black on the data plate>

I am going to guess you are not going to get that off without removing the black, but if it is laquer paint, you may be able to lightly scrub it off with laquer thinner, but it will still probably damage or remove the black with it. If it is enamel or urethane it probably won't come off without taking something else with it. Good luck.

Maybe that would be the ticket for YellowMach69 too. Unfortunately, I don't know what all of the original features of the car. I don't know if the transmission is original, the interior either. Ford doesn't keep records of any numbers past '67. Bummin'
