What wire to use for the light on a boost gauge?

I've had my autometer boost gauge hooked up for a while, but not the electrical. Wires scare me, so what wire do i splice into for the 12v source, and what do i use for ground? Any help would be nice, and pictures would be awesome. Thanks.

No wire splicing needed. Go to the autozone and buy a fuse adder, they now what they are. then the power wire goes into fuse #37 and the light wire in fuse #5 and then the ground on the chassis.

I connected mine to the brown/blue wire but don't quote me on that cause it's been awhile. The problem is I got straight all time power. What I need is to find the wire where it will dim with the rest of the gauges. Something to think about.

On Edit: Just read the write up. I may have to redo mine.

look for a 5 amp fuse in the fuse block that is only HOT when your lights are on and will dim when you move your dimmer control. that should be the fuse you can tap into.

on an 02 (my diagrams only go to 02) the wire color from dimmer to fuse is DB/WH (DarkBlue/White) color from fuse to IP is LB/RD (Light Blue/Red)

if its just a LED dimmer a 5A fuse should be fine. You also want to match the wire gauge to the fuse or you could burn up the wires (the real reason fuses are used is to protect wires).

i don't have the chart here, but with 5A you should use 18 gauge wire. Probably a little thick, but any thinner than that and it'll get shreaded just from stress/strain.

*thin wire is for toyotas and hondas*
