ok yesterday merkur started acting wierd, my wife said it stalled out on her and took a few minutes to start back up, and it started smoking, whick led me to believe it was a blown head gasket, checked compression and it read 132, 117, 120, 130. it has a ticking sound when running. any ideas? I think it might be a cracked head. anyone else have this problem it is a stock 2.3L stock turbo

I know when i raced NA Mustangs i cracked a head one night when i hit the wall.....it would never start then stall out on me it just ran like ****. And of course the head gasket blew and warped the head. but as far as running it would run so might have some other problems in yours other than that....dont know man....

what was she doing when it stalled? Idling, gassing it, braking?

does it smoke when it is running?
does it smoke when you first start it?
if it smokes, what color is it?
what does the ticking sound like?

answer thems and I will see what my brain can come up with.

later,
TF

I am confused,
Brown smoke!?? hmm never seen brown smoke from a car. You can have white, Black or blue, but no brown.

I am assuming it is still smoking.
does it run irradicaly?

bear with me, If I could see it then I wouldnt have to ask so much. but thats not going to happen.
