Matters what year you're looking to clone.

99/01 cobra has the same sideskirts as the 99-04 v6/gt
99 has the same rear bumper (01 says cobra)
99/01 cobra has the same wheels, except in a satin finish
01 cobra has the same spoiler

for that price, pick up an 01 cobra.

or a mach 1

eh, if you're going to shave the emblems, theres nothing wrong with liking the cobra parts...its like calling my car a foush...im getting all stage 3 body parts and shaving the emblems...im also shaving the MUSTANG in the rear bumper...but im not getting roush wheels either...saleens...i say if you're going to do that, get all 03/04 body parts, shave emblems, and not cobra wheels. get different wheels, and if i was doing that i would get the COBRA letters in the back bumper smoothed and shaved, so it doesnt look like you're trying to pass it off as one. The parts will bolt on, but you need to take to a body shop and get painted and installed...dont put them on and not paint...h/o checking prices...i got my hood for something around $459.99....im checking though gimme a minute

For the price of that GT, and the price it's gonna cost to buy the parts, paint them and install......you could buy a REAL Cobra and have the driveline to match!

Seriously $18.4 is way too much for that car. That car should sell for $15-16K tops

With 03 Cobras selling for around $24K now, you could buy a real one for the price of slapping the body parts on that GT.

That does seem a bit pricey....but it does only have 15k miles. I'm sure if you went to buy it, they'd come down to at least 17k....which is probably close to its value. Might could find one cheaper, especially living in such a big area. Also, if you can buy one from a private owner, you'd likely get it cheaper.

I don't see anything wrong with changing it to look like a Cobra....without the badging. It will be expensive though unless you can paint. Probably at least 3-4k for parts and paint. Honestly, I'd just buy a Mach 1 at that point. 03/04 Cobras in my area are going for nearly 30k still......but I did see one with 60k miles for 25k.

converting a GT to a cobra is cheesy... you have no buisness doing it unless you have all the performance features of the original.. even then it's still semi cheesy

It's not as bad if you remove all badging..

At least add some performance before you start modding your exterior. I hate having a fast looking slow car.

of course there isn't anything ethically wrong with it. you wouldn't be raping anybody, just making yourself look stupid.

You'll still have the "Cobra" on the rear bumper, unless you get that filled. That'll add $$ to the overall price too.

Screw that price, for 18k get Mach 1. Around here 04 GTs are in the 14k range. Mach 1s in the 17.5-18.5k range, 99-01 cobras in the middle.

As for conversion prices for body parts.

550ish for 03/04 front bumper, lights, brackets etc. then add $ for painting - discontinued like the 99/01 so they are getting sparse.
285 for the 03/04 rear bumper cover then add $ for painting
Skirts mine were 300 painted and shipped to the house, $ varies a bit by color.
300 for the hood then add $ for paint
Badges - dont, either shave them, get something like a 4.6 or 281, or leave them alone.

LOL

$18.3K for that! I'd say let them choke on it for that price. So it has low miles..who cares.

FYI I bought my 1 owner 99 Cobra with 36,000 miles on it for $15K about a year and a half ago.

You can find much better deals out there dude, you can buy a real 99 or 01 Cobra for less than that.

Fobras DEFINATELY FTL.

**I saw an 03 Mach 1 with 35K with a Pypes cat back and Pypes O/R X-Pipe, CAI, and some exterior mods for $18,000 at a dealership. That GT sounds pricey. Look around, you cab find a 4V for around that price...

** Fobras are so stupid. Even with shaved emblems.

**Getting a Saleen or a Roush body kit is different. That would be okay because they come with 2V motors in the first place.
