what would the perfect kenne bell setup be

Put that thing on your 120k mile 5.0. It won't hurt it. (I read this, somewhere..."Beggin to be used." There was something else that went along with it, though. ) I wouldn't let it collect dust. I was actually trying to put the $$$ together to get it. You just got to it, before I did. I was going to slap it on my 90k mile AODE car and have some FUN!!!! Now, I'm on to maybe putting an IRS in mine. A post on :SNSign: got me thinking.

if i were re-building the motor for a kb, i'd put a 331 together with afr 185's, a blower cam, at least a 75mm throttle body, and a lower that was ported by tmoss. if you want to keep the inlet manifold that is on there, then you'd want a ported stock lower, otherwise get a ported gt40 lower and the matching inlet from kb. those are pretty much the only choices for lowers, unless someone makes one that has the same bolt pattern as either a gt40 or a stock lower.

i'd also make sure i included a water/methanol injection system.

is that your daily driver ... is that why you are waiting to put it on? lots of people have bolted on blowers and 120K and more miles.

Look at it this way. Say you bolt the blower on now and it lasts 6 months before the motor goes, and that's being a little negative about it, will prob last much longer. You still got a nice 6 months of use out of your current engine, you learned about the boost and the do's and dont's that come along with having a blower. Better to learn on that 120K motor than a brand new engine. No matter how new or old the motor is, a mistake can blow the $hit out of either one.

My 130K 5.0 made over 400 HP on the dyno and it runs good! No way was I forking out all that cash to watch it sit on a shelf or something!! I'd say if your motor is healthy slap that thing on there and ride! Cause who knows, no bad luck intended, but coming from someone whose been there, your car can be here today and gone tomarrow(fire, accident, stolen)! Then you'll have a nice blower sitting in the closet and no car to install it on.. Enjoy now while you can and hope for the best!!!
