What would you change on a fox body?

I'm bored and I was thinking about all the things I wish ford did to the fox body to make them "better" from the factory.


Stronger trans than a t5
An easier way to get the shifter out (I gotta fenagle a wrench to get the two front bolts out)
electric fan!
5 - lug!
and cupholders.

What do you guys have in mind?

Mostly the brakes. They royally suck. SOmething like the 94-95 GT's would have been awesome. THen I could have that money back and buy some heads!

Better trans ( I have to drop my T5 just to get the shifter off since the T-5 didn't come in 79s so the hole is offset differently)
big disk brakes all around
bigger wheel wells that will hold 335s on the rear and 275s on the front without rubbing
sub frame connectors
coil overs

I would have to agree.

Trans stronger.
4 wheel disc brakes, and a little bigger up front.
AND... subframe connectors standard.
Hydrolic Clutch instead of cable.
Same motor, but the 351W standard.


I think instead of the SN-95, they should have made the 93 Cobra the standard GT.

Good point!

So - for 79-93 cars I'd say:

#1 - Better brakes
#2 - Stiffer chassis
#3 - Stronger alternator
#4 - Brighter instrument panel

Besides being underpowered about the only things I didn't like about driving my 5.0s stock were the brakes, charging system, and the seats suck.

one thing cosmetically that has always kind of bothered me is how the window "line" from the side view mirrior to the back point of the 1/4 window slopes down rather than with the flow of the rest of the body. i think it would make the car look more aggressive if it was like i said

At least 3:55 gears
Maybe close to 250 rwhp. That's not too much to ask I don't think.

Stiffer Chassis, Lower Suspension, Better Seats, Disk Brakes, 5 lug, OEM Bumper Tailpipe Cutouts on GT's(Turndowns Just dont cut it for me) BETTER AOD!!!, Stock 3:55, Stock 17's Staggered Fitment 245 up front, 275 rears... But i still love my fox the way it is

5 lug and 4 wheel disk, thats all I would want.

Having a car thats really slow stock is a lot of fun b/c when you do h/c/i you actually feel like it was money well spent.

Yeah,brakes,stiffer chassis.The vert chassis stock is a bad joke.Body wise, the 3 piece rear bumper on the GT really spoils the lines on the car.They fixed it on the 93 Cobra.
