What would you do?

Hi guys:

I need some opinions. I currently have 3 cars: A Ranger pickup, a Mustang and a Volvo wagon (for the lady!). I only have 2 parking spots and as a result I need to sell either the truck or the mustang now! I can sell the mustang for about what I owe on the loan, I am upside down on the Ranger.

Here is my question: Would you sell the mustang knowing that I should be able to buy either a Cobra or a Mach 1 within 9 to 12 months?
Or should I take the hit on the Ranger and keep the mustang?

F.Y.I the mustang is a 40,000 mile 2003 DSG, 5 speed GT and is perfect. I drive about 20,000 miles a year.

Please help me decide! :SNSign:

As of now I think the Mach 1 is more in the ball park. Clean Cobra's are about $29,000 grand in these parts, but it seems like the Mach's are about $19,000. I really just want the 4 valve

I was having the same internal torment myself. I plan on getting an 03/04 Terminator in the future, and was throwing around the idea of just getting a Mach 1 instead since they are 5-8K cheaper. After thinking it over though I came to the conclusion that I'd rather wait it out and get the cobra just because it's a stronger starting platform. It has forged internals unlike the Mach so it can handle 500+ without issues. A Mach is basically a 4v GT being as they both run into issues when you up the power on them...Plus I think the Cobras look way better!

Buy a 03/04 cobra from another state, fly out there (200 bucks or so max), and drive it back... I see them go for 18k-25k all the time around here.

Benny:

You had the IRS in your gt didn't you? I see this as a downside in the Cobra and without garage space there won't be anything I can do about it.

The Mach on the other hand already has the solid rear and a 4V...

Benny, Would you do all of the mod's to your GT over again? or would you start over if you had a stock GT?

Thanks,

IRS has far superior handling capabilities than the solid axle, simple as it is. If I were to do it all over again I would mod my car. If all you wanna do is go straight, and I'm talking sub 10 second passes...then go with the car that has a solid axle - still a cobra has alot more nice "little additions" over a Mach or GT.

Ha, I figured, right now I have a Mustang and a Ranger as well but the fiance has an Escape 4x4, luckily we don't have assigned spots and there's plenty of extra parkin in our townhouse community.

CatmanJJ,
Is that a picture of your fiance in your avatar?
If not, who is that blonde? I've never seen her before. She's beautiful.
