What would you do?

I am new here, but no stranger to the 65-66 mustangs.
Here is my question. I found a true survivor a 64 1/2 mustang ,rust free, dent free 260 v-8, 3 speed. The only thing missing is the original air cleaner, it currently has headers but the original exhaust manifolds are in the trunk.
I got it home already bought and paid for. Actually I also got a parts car with it. Same thing a 64 1/2 but a rust bucket as far as the floors go, nothing I would care to try and fix, but with a lot of extra parts on it . perfect fenders,doors ,trunk lid ,end caps, power steering stuff, that I plan to eBay.
Should I also eBay the rust free ,dent free mustang and let a classic restorer have it or go ahead with my plans and drop a 289 and a 4 speed in it and resto- mod it?
The car is a outside , inside paint job and new carpet from being a restored mustang, everything I mean everything is as it left the factory down to the original wiring and generator, cigarette lighter.
Its what a 64 1/2 mustang would have looked like in 1968.
I know I am that old. I been feeling guilty about taking this one apart for some reason.
What would you do?

thisis a tough question as in the end the decision is yours alone to make. what i would do is take a close look at the parts car and see just how bad the rust is. if it is only the floor pans, then replace those, and build that car into a hot rod and leave the other car alone. if the parts car is too far gone to repair, then i would find another shell, strip all the good parts off the parts car, and build that into a hot rod, and again leave the good car alone.

if you dont want two mustangs, then get all the good parts you can off the parts car, pull the 260/3spd combo and store it away, be sure to pickle the motor so that if you decide to put the car back original, or sell the car, the motor and trans wont be ruined. just make sure that any mods oyu make can be reversed easily.

I am taking your advise an leaving it unmolested, but as part of the family. Going to be seeking another one to hot rod. I looked over the parts car and it is way to far gone to fix economically. As cheap as the 65-66 coupes are now due to the recession.
I kinda knew in my heart that was the way to go, and your input helped.
By the way I am located in Phoenix.

I agree about leaving the 64.5 unmolested.
