I have a BBK X pipe along with 2 chamber flows and it sounds awsome...I don't know where you guys get that an X-pipe should be ran with straight through mufflers...you guys are nuts...Car sound tough as hell...I also have a MAC X pipe with 2 chamber American thunder flows and sounds like a$$...will be replacing that one with a Bassani X-pipe...I also had an H pipe with that set up and like the sound of an X so much better...I am very maticulus when it comes to the exhaust tone...I had so many combinations its not even funny...I wish some of you would speak from experience instead of your personal setup...If you want to go quality go with bassani...BBK is definately a good budget X-pipe...

Thats just what Ive heard. And all the people saying x-pipes sound like crap are running flows. Ive never heard a magnaflow person say an x pipe sounds crappy. I watched the video and I thought the flows sounded good. I dunno, all I know is my setup sounds good.

i think Mac makes it, which could scare some of you, because it came in a Mac box and had Mac literature inside. it fits good now that i hammered the hangers. and it sounds awesome with my flowpaths, i get many compliments on the sound.

Im very happy with the pacificaperformance/mac X-pipe. Sound s mean with hooker maximum flow mufflers(straight thru design, loud at wot, quiet down low)

I'm gonna have to agree about x-pipes not sounding good with chambered muffs. I used to run a Prochamber with my flowmasters and it sounded super sweet, but then I switched to an X-pipe and it doesn't sound as good.

I plan on ordering some Spintechs soon, and I have a feeling it's gonna sound bad ass once again.

my hooker aero chambers sound pretty damn nice with the bbk shorties and bassani catted x pipe sounds a lot better than the 3 chamber flows...i didnt really like the sound with the flows, but im not a huge fan of flows in general on mustangs 5.0s prolly cause everyone has them..my exhaust is quiet around town quite loud at WOT just my 2 cents

well the x pipe is up n runnin and it sounds very good. It really is a head turner. I love the sound. sounds very different from an h pipe of catted pipe. Magnaflows sound very nice with the x pipe.

Just for something a little different, mine is about to have a 2.5" X pipe and the stock mufflers off of an LS1 C5 Corvette - all custom fabricated. I think I finally found the muffler to quiet it down.

Interesting fab. I am looking to quiet my car down. Were the mufflers from the Corvette Borla? I know my friend has an SS Camaro and it came with Borla mufflers from the factory.

Another vote for VRS!

Had a Pacifica and it didn't fit at all. Had to bend and torch it to get it on. Then I found out it was made by MAC and realized why the quality and fit were so poor!

I have the following exhaust set up on my notch.

1.75" BBK Ceramic LT headers, 2.5" BBK OR X Pipe, and a Flowmaster American Thunder Cat back.

I have attached a video clip of me doing donuts in my car...I don't think my car sounds like a$$ at all, in fact, it sounds pretty damn good...would some Magnaflow race bullets or Mac Pro Dumps sound better...probably, but an LX with tails, save for tire clearance, just doesn't look right.

I imagine when I throw the Trick Flow Trackheat HCI kit and other supporting hardware on it, it will sound even better.

Enjoy the video.

I'd suggest doing a Right Click, Save As, they're fairly big.

Nostalgia - there's nothing that I can see on the Corvette mufflers that would indicate that they are made by Borla. God, I hope they're not. I want to quiet the car down - and anything I've tried aftermarket (FloMaster, Bassani, SpinTech, Magnaflow - yes, that many) have been too loud for me.

You say mufflers (emphasis on plural) on the Camaro - my understanding is that the Camaros run a Y-pipe, single 3" back to a single transverse-mounted muffler. I'm very familiar with the set up as my car is currently configured indentically. In fact, the FloMaster that was orignally on my car was the muffler for a Camaro/Firebird application.

Nostalgia - I don't think the Corvette mufflers will work for you unless you go with a side exit in front of the rear tire. They have the inlet and outlets on the same end of the muffler - the gas makes a 180 turn inside the muffler. Works for me as they'll be transversely mounted behind the rear axle and fuel tank on mine.

lol...that was right after a car show/cruise event...when we left the event, there were three of us that left billowing clouds of tiresmoke...much to the delight of the crowd.

MidwestStangs left the event like no one else.

pacifica performance (mac) x-pipe

i have a pacifica offroad x-pipe with a flowmaster american thunder catback. My car sounds awsome, i get compliments on it all the time, and the best part is no other car sounds like mine.. its not too loud down low, over 2 grand it gets loud and past 4 grand it screams like a demon. Im going to put some headers on it soon but i dont know what kind to go with.

Anyone have any suggestions? i dont want to changed the x pipe or the catback so i will be going with shorties.

I would go with some MAC unequal lenght shorties. Ive never had any problems installing any x or h pipes. They all fit in nicely. Do you have any sound clips of your exhaust?

THC420 - what are your other mods? The stock headers, while they look restrictive, don't become a limitation to peak exhaust flow until you exceed 280-290 crank HP. If you're under that, adding shorties won't help. My mild H/C/I combo lost 3HP when we added shorties. The dynos aren't that accurate or repeatable - but it's close enough to say there was no change. And there definitely was a change in the volume and quality of my exhaust sound. What I'm getting at is you could make a change that would cost you money, not give you any better performance, and result in altering an exhaust sound you're obviously happy with. Careful....
