What year starter to get for upgrade to my 88

Well the original starter is finallt giving me fits so i need a new one.. I have heard that the newer Foxes had a smaller higher torque starter but what years??? also is there anything i have to change or is it a bolt in thing?

I heard that early 90's Ford trucks have mini starters....I cannot give you any specific models to look for but you could see by comparing starters. I imagine V8's maybe others?

well i looked it up and evidently they started the mini starter on 92 and up. but what about the solenoid?? These mini starters have solenoids on them. does that mean i remove mine completly or use both

I know that the 94 model year had the mini starters. You can get one from local auto parts for around $100 .

go on ebay and look up the company alterstart. I bought a mini starter from them for like 90 bucks and it works great. It comes with instructions and everything you need. all you nreally need to do it switch the wiring on the starter relay and run a wire from the starter to the relay. It's really easy to do.

94 and up stangs my 95 f15 has one. both autozone and advances have them instock for 120 plus core and tax looking at 160 something out the door.they are remanufactored starters.

you get a brand new starter with lifetime warranty for 135 shiped to your door. i keep braking advanced starters. i have used my pa starter two years no problem on a 13.5 to 1 comp engine with timming locked out.

also pa gives you the wiring kit to change over. not like its a big deal but its nice
