I went to junkyard a while ago and got a STB for my g/'fs '94 we thought it was aftermarket, but I found a pic of one and asked who made it, and I was told it came stock... I'm just curious if they did come stock, and one which car? I would think the Verts, since the newer models have subframes and a k-member brace

Also if anyone has pics of the mounting points that would help a lot because i've no idea which holes to mount it in, and what to use for bolts.

i'm pretty sure the bolts are a 10mm socket. on the pass. side there is one on top, two on the side of the shock tower. on the drivers side there is two on top and one in front. On the firewall, there are two. make sure you thread them all in a little bit, then do the front of the shock tower bolts first, then the rest. I say this because it will line up the top bolts on the shock tower a little nicer. Just a little convenience.

WRONG!! they aren't stock... (well, technically, I guess they are) but only like 10% of the GTs had them... every other GT (94-95) that I've seen except one doesn't have it... it was pretty rare actually... only several thousand had them...

WRONG!! yes they are... but only 10% of the mustangs have them on yet, most guys take them off due to clearance issues with intakes, or weight. Every one i've seen has it unless taken off.

well, I was kinda joking w/ the WRONG crap... so I might as well keep w/ that...

-they were certainly not stock material... they were an option you could get w/ a custom ordered car, or got lucky from a dealer... they were put on fewer cars than 17" rims were stock. a lot of people do take their's off due to clearance issues... but not that many, and like I said, every one's I ever saw for the first few months didn't have it, and never did have it.

-no, the cobra's didn't have them, and the GTS weren't supposed to... I would say someone went to a junkyard and picked one up for it...

Ditto, although I've replaced it with a Steeda piece to clear the Edelbrock intake.

All 94 and 95 GTs came with them from the factory. It was not an option.

Every Mustang (94/95) I have seen in Canada has one and my car is a GTS and I know that it has had one on since it was new. I also thought that they all came with the brace and if they didn't I was sure that the vast majority did come with them, Iam also pretty sure I seen a completely stock 95 Cobra with one on. But maybe thats because these cars were in Canada. Like the old export brace.

My 94 GT has one and I don't even have all the options that were available (don't have leather or CD player, but all other options). Every non-modded 94/95 I've seen has had the brace. I was surprised when I learned that 96 and newer GT's (cobras ???) didn't have them.

I see so many more 96 and up GT's than I do 94/95's. One reason I really like my stang, especially since it is not old looking.

all 95/95 gt's came with them from the factory and cobras did not. i know the original owner of my car an he said that it was never an option, also i know one of the guys who designed our cars, he also said they came from factory stock, the cobras did not because of clearence issues, some of the cobras have the holes drilled for it but it was never put on because it would not fit. cobras built later id not have these holes.

all the 94/95 GT's had em...the Cobra didnt get it cuz it didnt fit....and the 6ers didnt get one cuz well its a 6er....i HIGHLY doubt they were an option....my GT has cloth interior, came stock with waffles, and no CD and i had one...but its currently in the attic cuz it doesnt fit with an edelbrock mani, obviously....but EVERY stock GT ive ever seen has had one...unless it was removed by the owner...you may have seen GTS's without the brace because first off lots of people dont realize what a GTS is...cuz it has all the GT badges and stuff....and i dont think the GTS was supposed to have one......
