The wheel shake sounds like your rotors need to be turned, which is fairly cheap and most any parts store can do. The grinding sound could be several things, wheel bearing, pads(but should hear it all the time), something rubbing your wheel....look around for some clean metal where something might be rubbing? Sorry I cant be more help on that one.
