Could anyone tell me a estimate of what I should expect to pay around to have a bare set of 351c 4bbl quench heads setup for me. Im going to install the springs and valves but what should I expect to pay for a valve job, hardend seats and all that kind of stuff, maybe some polishing and whatever else a set of old heads should have done. Get max power out of it on a Budget, also are port stuffers expensive to have installed for more low end power? Will they hurt HP?

Thanks,
Jim

Well, do you plan on changing the cam out? I understand the 4bbl heads are not that great on the street, even guys with track only car put port plates on the exhaust. Do you already have the springs and valves? I doubt you'll need any polishing, maybe some deep pocket blending and clean up around the guide, then work on the area right behind the valve. I'm guessing $500-$600.

Assuming the heads aren't cracked or warpped and all the valves may be reused, figure $300-350 plus gaskets. This is for a standard valve grind, nothing extra. Installation varies by the hourly rate and should run $500 for the R&R. (includes painting & cleaning) That's what I'd charge. :D
