What's the best shifter???

My factory shifter is wore out and am looking to replace it with a short throw. What is the best and why??

Hurst? Pro 5.0? TriAx? B&M Ripper??? Summit? help!

I have always had Pro 5.0 shifters, but lately the craze is the MGW's. I have been debating switching over to an MGW but can not justify spending $$ on a new shifter when I alread have one haha

i have a tri ax...and i love it... heard good thing about mgw too.. my tri ax is definatly better than my old hurst too

Just buy one. If you like it keep it. If not get another one. My guess is regardless of which one you choose it will be an enormous improvement over factory. Which will likely result in a smile on your face.

I have the TriAx. I never used any of the others so I can not make a comparison but the TriAx for me has a real tight pattern and lines up on 3rd gear nicely. I haven't missed a shift with it yet.

i've seen a lot of people preferring the tri-ax over mgw on t56's, there is a big liking on mgw on 3650's though

only one i have ever tried is my buddies tri-ax i liked it because of it bein spring loaded for the 2nd to 3rd gear shift.

Funny because I never really heard anything about MGW. I have a Steeda Tri-Ax and it's kinda notchy in between gears at times. I never bothered to adjust the shifter but I heard Pro. 5.0 is better for T-45s and the Steeda Tri-Ax is better for the T56s.

ive only had the upr shifter when i bought the car and changed it for a pro 5.0 and its ten times better, ive heard alot of good about mgw too

I've had my MGW for 4 years now. The shifter was stiff as a board when I first got it and I missed 3rd gear afew times because of that, but I have'nt missed a 2-3 shift in years now. It's literally as simple as a 1-2 shift.

B&M ripper here.Had it since '03,and still feels like new.
In reality,they all serve for the same basic idea,it will boil down to your preference.

i have used both, had a tri-ax on my 04 GT and have a MGW on my 99 cobra and prefer the tri-ax

I have chosen the MGW for myself. However, before ordering i came across the option for ordering a "shifter handle" Mustang Shift Handle. Call me a noob, but can anyone know what the handle is for? Do i buy the shifter alone, or the handle as well? Also, the "inner dust boot" Mustang Shifter Inner Dust Boot. Are these useless add ons that they offer to profit more, or are these things i should include as well. Thanks!

I had a MGW, I miss it. I have a Tri Ax, I wouldnt miss it.

MGW has a handle that can be adjusted 360 degrees. It also has the assurance that the shift is in gear because it seems to "click" into place. Couldn't pay me to switch it out. The mgw now comes with an orange handle and I have heard if you call them you can buy the silver handle which is shorter version of the orange handle. I used my stock dust boot when I changed mine out, have to cut it slightly so that must be an option to buy if you don't want to use your stocker.
