If you're talking about driving it to school, you're probably a few years from qualifying for collector's insurance.

I'll more than likely go with Hagerdy insurance but I just want to make sure I find out all the catches that there is with this type of insurance. My car isn't my DD, but I would like to be able to drive it to work/school once or twice a week.

work/school is out but you can do what you want just like going to run errands you take the risk but of the accident happens in the parking lot and does decent damage then pay out of pocket because they will want a police report. I don't know why so many people think there is a catch they let you drive the car but yes they have restrictions for a reason its not designed to get around regular insurance and the higher premuim it has its up and downs.

For mine I had to be 25, the registered owner of the car, the only driver, it cannot be driven to work, for errands, etc, limited mileage, garaged when not in use, and I needed to include some photos of the car.

With that said I was able to get $10,000 coverage for $170/year. Much cheaper than any regular insurance coverage I tried on the car in the past.

No I can get it. I've already checked it out. The car is in mine and my mothers name.

No they don't.

When we first applied, they refused and asked the agent to look at the odometer of my convertible. A year later, we reapplied and showed the car to the agent a second time and he noted that we had only driven it about 1500 miles. Since then, we've had no problem adding cars and we've never had to demonstrate our mileage since that time.

I would assume that, if I had an accident, they would want the current mileage and would calculate how many miles I had averaged a year since the policy went into effect.

I have had to give my mileage at renewal, maybe each company is different.

I got american collectors for my 02 this year. I had to submit pics because of the age being newer, mileage, prove my daily driver(s) and list any modification. I pay $263 a year for it. As a former agent I liked how they handled the process.
