I'm looking at getting a converter for my 93 AOD car that I just bought and I see converters listed from 87-92. What's the difference?

no, 93's were aod as well, '94's had the "e"

a '93 should be the same.

93 was the last year of the AOD in the Mustang and 94 was the first year of AODE in the Mustang but I believe that Ford introduced the AODE to other car lines in 93. So if its in a Mustang it should be an AOD.

Ok because I need to get a converter for my car and on some websites I've been to they read 87-92 aod. So I was wondering if there were any differences between 92 and 93?

Go here.... www.mustanggt.org

The site is dedicated to the GT, but the Mechanical's are identical between the LX and GT.

An AOD will have a TV cable running from the TB to a lever on the left side of the trans. An AOD-E will not. I'm sure the difference in the convertors has to do with lock-up features.
