a relatively stock non-PI 96-98 GT has ran in the 1/4??? By relatively stock I mean not much more than a CAI and aftermarket exhaust, since thats about as close to stock as you can get anymore.

I'm sure he'll chime in, but I think bhuff has gone 14.2x, maybe a tad faster, with just an offroad H. That's fastest I have noticed.

I was thinking they should run 14.5x-14.7x with those mods.

I think that's par for the course, but seems like a few people wind up with factory freaks. Too bad I didn't....15.2 at 90.... But now I got an offroad h pipe and custom SCT tune coming. People tell me my tune is off; well, I'm about to find out this weekend.

Lol. So far, with nothing more than an O/R x-pipe, Flowmasters, and a CAI, I've ran a best of 14.19 @ 95.26. I just finished putting Strange adjustable struts and shocks and Eibach drag springs on my 98 GT. I'm hoping for 13's this Friday night.

Very nice. Did you notice a lot of pick up with the offroad mid-pipe? And I saw you also had an SCT tune; get much out of that? I think my biggest problems are the tune, the stock midpipe, and the 4r70w. And like I said, I'm taking care of the first two this weekend, so I'll see how it goes.

The 4r70w won't hurt you much. Get a decent 3200 rpm converter and some 4.10's you'll be good to go. I didn't notice a difference at the track with the sct tune, but on the dyno it made 8rwhp and 1 rwtq difference. The sct programmer came with the car when I bought it and already had a custom tune in it. It needs re-tuned. It runs pig rich with the tune on. I'm gonna wait until the new motor is finished first though. The midpipe makes a huge difference. On my 93 Mark VIII, I had a custom midpipe made to get rid of the cats and it made a huge difference. I picked up about 1/2 of a second. Plus it makes the car sound 10x as tough.

You must be launching the nuts off the car to get a 14.19 at just 95mph. I tried earlier this fall to beat my 14.26, but my clutch was too soft (70k+ miles) and the weather wasn't cooperative, so I was stuck at 14.4.

NPI cars can run very strong with a few simple bolt ons, gears and a good driver, NPI heads are not bad, but the stock NPI cams and intake are terrible, which gives a bad rep for NPI cars.....

I've got the Eibach drag launch springs and airbag on and Strange adjustable struts and shocks on now. I'm shooting for 13's on street tires this saturday. I've also got a set of drag radials borrowed. We shall see. I think I'll swap to 4.10's and PI swap it this winter.

Not really. My best 60ft is 2.11. I just ride the clutch out at about 1750rpms and then stand on it. Spin through first and a little in second and away I go. Whats your best 1/8th mile pass??

You need to bring it out to the kan... ORP will never admit it but I have heard from a few credible sources (one of them stepped it off and would know) that the finish line at orp is not quite 1/4 mile.

Not that your car doesn't run well but it would explain your low 14 at just 95 with a bad 60 ft.

I've also heard said rumor. Based on my 1/8th mile time, I should be running 14.09 in the 1/4. I do want to come to the Kan again one of these days. I grew up in Monett and I raced at both places and all my cars ran within a few hundredths on similar weather days.
