i only run 93, pings on anything less

if its stock then yes...if you have advanced timing or different heads then different octanes are needed

Unless your car is like mine and pings on anything less the 91 (Which is the best that I can get in So Cal)

It's $3.50 for 93, and around $3.30 for 87 where i'm at.

I thought our manuals asked for 89 octane from the factory.

BTW - gas just dropped in price here. NOW we are down to 3.17 for 87 - I'm filling the Focus up today. Cause tomorrow is the start of the holiday w/e and I'm sure it'll climb higher, yet again.
