What's the goal for your car?

Before the 07 GT I have now I had a 93 GT that has cam, heads,
Intake, supercharger, baer brakes ect. It made 365 rwhp.
My goal with this 07 is to get close to those numbers with motor only.
Also I want to get a alum. flywheel,1 pc driveshaft. ford racing handling
pack. and GT 500 front brakes.
I run my car at a Road America and my goal is to beat my buddy who has
my old car.

Just wondering what everyone else has planned for their cars.

Drive it until the warrenty ends... then consider some mods. I'll probally be at the begining of starting a family right then... might dampen the plans though.

+1 I have 5 years to go on my factory warranty. I don't see any mods that I really want to buy/install at this point. I didn't even bother to order the IUP or rear spoiler. None of the exterior or interior mods interest me, and the exhaust parts are overpriced. I also have the stock painted Bullitt 17" wheels (no interest in aftermarket or bigger wheels).

Once the warranty runs out, I may consider long tube headers, axle-backs, 11 psi Whipple kit, TR-6060 swap, ported heads, and camshafts but I'm pretty happy with the performance as-is (factory stock form). Also, once the warranty runs out I plan to flash the PCM with one of my custom tunes to get rid of the throttle lag.

It's crazy how some dealerships will let you by with mods, and some won't. With all the mods in my sig, my local dealer gives me NO grief when I bring my car in for a tsb or warranty work.

I got my car the way I wanted... it was a Saleen spec, which I mentioned before. Basically, that means it was a stripper, basic rims, no spoiler and low (read: light) option list. I added the FRPP handling kit from the dealer, so it has a full warrenty. Other then axle backs and a few visual mods, I don't need much more considering my other ride.

Keep changing up a few parts here and there, I'm probably half way through what I want to change. That may flux as time goes by but ultimately I want to take down a trophy or two at local shows. That'll never happen if people keep giving trophies to gosh Fast n Furious cars or to whatever jerk off slapped a supercharger on their car. Half the time those ones who just have a stock mustang with a supercharger can't even be bothered to detail or clean their car properly.

Anyways today seems to be rant day, I just ranted in an E-mail to some co-workers about a tribute gift to a former manager that damn near caused our department to collapse on itself. So pay no mind really.

My goal is to spend as little as possible on it and not do any mods. That way I'll have a lot of $$ saved to buy something new in a few years.

Mods may be a lot of fun, but they're the financial equivalent of flushing $100 bills down your toilet.

Yea the money spent on mods will never be seen again but I enjoy having
a unique car to much not to change something.

If you experienced the performance and greatly improved gas mileage that my Brenspeed 93 octane tune, and C&L CAI give me on my 07 GT you would not think that way. If you never did any thing else to your car, do at least that.

There is not one single modification you can do for the money that will beat this, and there is no down side or any kind.

I've gone down that road before, and I won't bother with it on my 07 GT. I bought a X-Cal 2 and was ready to upload a custom tune, but decided to keep the 5 year warranty when I found out how much GO POWER the Stang had in bone stock form!

I plan on getting a C&L and underdrive pullies from brenspeed
in the next few weeks.
This car is down 100 hp from my last stang so im looking forward
the mods.

My goal is to build one wicked street pounding stang. I have very little left to get done on my 07 before I consider her complete. An all around fun car with lots of power and excellent asthetics.

Word. My dealer will install Saleen SC, ATI Procharger or Hellion turbo warrantied given the RWHP is under 430hp. They have a nearby shop tyno tune them to 430 RWHP. not abad dea if you ask me.

My plans this year is a C&l to go with my 4.10s. hopefully i can brake into the mid 13's at this track here = about 12.8 on some drag tires.

I disagree. If you bought a brand new 07 and put a supercharger on it you could sell it for 40K. At this point yo can actually profit off of moding the S197s because people are too damn stupid to realize they can hav it done themselves for much cheaper. Because the dealers put on rims and a bodykit and charge $8000 when it could be done yourself for 4 and people pay for tht ****.

As far as a unique car to enjoy, you are spot on. people pay money for enjoyment. a car that runs 12's with 1K in mods and a sticker of $24.5K-$32K is unbeatable by far and a hella lot of fun. people will pay that day and night.

anyway, this post is slightly off topic, sorry.

I disagree with your disagreement.
Unless you're Saleen, Roush, Shelby or a similar well know aftermarket company, it's next to impossible to find anyone who will pay you extra for a modified car.
