my motor is going in the car when they were going to bolt the tranny back up they found that my flywheel has 8 bolts on it but the motor only takes 6 bolts

i called ford to order a stock gt flywheel and they told me they dont have that in stock and they cant order one this came from 3 different ford dealers

i was pissed i asked the guy what am i suppose to do i need a stock gt flywheel for my car he said sorry cant help you

i called rpm outlet and they told me the 8-bolt flywheel is for the cobra crank and the 6-bolt is for the gt so why the hell would i have a cobra crank in a totally stock gt

ps ford dealer real pieace or work just keeps reminding me why i dont order ***** from them

I believe the '99 + '00 Windsor built 4.6 2v engines have 8 bolt cranks, (maybe others too) they aren't just in Cobras

yes that is correct, 1999 and 2000 Mustang Gt's are Windsor engines and are 8 bolt at the crank and flywheel, 1996 to 1998 and 2001 to 2004 are Romeo engines and have 6 bolt flywheel and crank.

also, I'd like to know the names of the dealers in Baltimore that told you they can't get the flywheel, because I WILL call them and chew them out

the one that gave me that i cant help you quote was the ford dealer ship on joppa road

parts guy "we dont have that part in stock and we cant order it per ford."

me ' ok well i need that 6-bolt flywheel for my mustang !"

parts guy "well we cant help you sorry bud !"

me "WTF ??"

so i ordered the alum. flywheel from rpm outlet.
