I'm sure a lot of guys are running these -

Mine isn't slipping yet, but it has 70,000 miles on it. I'll be adding a s/c here pretty soon, and I plan to get some drag radials for the track ASAP.

I just assume change my clutch out now. So any pros, and cons on the SPEC clutches ? Which one might I need for my desired ~400 RWHP?

Stage 1 torque capacity is 410ftlbs
Stage 2 torque capacity is 520ftlbs.
Stage 3 torque capacity is 680ftlbs

These were the numbers given for a 96-98. I assume they'll be the same for an 00 just different part number

I've heard of people buying aftermarket high strength cluthes that turned out to be garbage. Are these the real deal ?

Thanks

I personally think that SPEC is having quality issues. I had 3 bad clutches from them in my last car. If I were you I'd buy a different brand. I'll probably buy a McLoed when I replace the one in the stang.

what kind of problems are you having, mine seams to be makeing a lot of noise.

On the other hand my spec 3 is working great and I make decent power. Always remember, there's no such thing as a perfect product and even if there were somebody would be unhappy with it.

I just bought a SPEC Stage 3. I havent heard any complaints about it. The only thing my friend told me was to be weary of Kevlar clutches, which is what the stage 2 is made out of. I know that they last a decent amount of time, but they start to slip with drag applications. Thats mainly why i decided to go with the stage 3. I think it will be worth it in the end.
