Hey guys i noticed my 2000 mustang gt (35098miles) throws out smoke from the oil cap when it is removed. i checked my PCV valve and it still has suction when i place my finger on it. i also noticed that at times the smoke is also exerted from the exhaust...
Please help guys i want to get rid of this problem

i Have a P1SC procharger at 12 psi which i recently just added oil to
and i also have an oil catch can which its connected to the engine and the air filter on the procharger.

What color is the exhaust smoke? It sounds like it might be a bad head gasket.

headgasket or rings...sounds like ur getting alot of blowby

Can you slap some pictures up because I have some questions.

1) @ 12 psi...is the engine built or the stock engine (stock, I'm guessing since you said 35k miles on a 2000 GT)
2) Where are you check the PCV? You should be checking it coming FROM the valve cover, not the back of the plenum. If the valve covers are sucking air, then there is no way it should be blowing smoke out of the oil fill hole.
3) You have a catch can connected to what? That catch can should be between the PCV valve and the plenum. What type of catch can is it?
4) Who did the tune?

To me, is sounds like excessive blow-by. That is a problem I had because I dorked up a ring with my KB. If it is the stock bottom end...guess a great winter project would be to build a new bottom end.

Sorry i was too brief .. About the exhaust smoke its only on a cold start lol and it goes away really fast... i have no cats and i cut my exhaust at the flowmaster

I checked the PCV here

The JEGS oil can is this one

is ur bottem end stock? thats alot of boost either way...almost positive its ring(s)

well to start id have a comprion check done on all cylinders and ull know for sure....obviously if that is the case ull b rebuilding or buying a shortblock...if u rebuild u can save urself some money by having the cylinder(s) sleeved instead of honing them all and buying bored pistons...turn the boost down afterwards! lol

Alright koo .. How much would that rebuild come out too?

Idk I think I'll just get an mmr short block if a rebuild can't handle that boost lol

Ok, yeah, it does look right. Since the smoke out of the oil cap is only there for a second....that is nothing to worry about. Now, the smoke out of the tail pipes....that can be a problem. That is blow by.

As for a rebuild, a setup that will handle 600 hp is not that expensive. From ModMax Racing, you can get it for $1500 or less. A basic MMR shortblock can be about $2200-2300. Even with the shortblock, there are quite a few other things you need. Dowles, gaskets, seals....and a lot of other stuff. If you reuse your old block, they are there already. Neither way is really cheap, but if you want to put it together yourself....go modmax....if you want that part done for you and you just assemble the final product....go with a shortblock. MMR, Liveronis, CHP, DSS...the list can go on and on. We could also argue for a month on which builder is better and why....but lets not do that .

Here is another thing to consider. If you are running the stock PCV valve it was not meant to see boost. Vortech kits have you run two PCV valves in series so you might want to think about that if you have not already. Remember the PCV valve is a one way valve which should only allow air to be vented from the valve cover not vice versa.
