what's wrong with my mustang?

when i start it up....it starts up but the rpm goes from 1,000rpm or lower....when it gets lower...i could feel the mustang shakin...(must be from the engine)....when the RPM hits rock bottom, it shuts down the mustang....so I have to drive around in 5 minutes to keep the RPM on 1,000 to keep it running....anyone know what's wrong??? Thanks]

I would unplug the IAC on the side of the throttle body, clean the pins, put some dielectric grease on them, remove the IAC (two 8 mm bolts) and clean it out real good with Contact or Carb cleaner. There is a plunger in there that opens in measure to let air pass for idle. It may be sticky. This will probably fix it.
