I was saying it like that, I was saying it meaning at the time I had better things to do than drink, and personally did not want to risk underage drinking and losing what I had. I look at the young kids that drink these days (Im talking the drinking till your trashed, on a regular basis) and want to smack them over the head. Too many immature kids out there who have no sense at all. I can only hope when it does catch up to them it only affects them!

Its kind of sad young people in general have very little respect for anyone or anything. Everyone is out for themselves and could care less about what happens to others because of their actions. Not so much drinking at 14, but the fact kids are doing this "grown up stuff" at such a young age, yet dont have the maturity that should go along with it. Makes for a scary combination!

And thats good that you can relate. It's not a personal attack on you by any means, its like we've all been saying, well, the older ones here, that at 14, though you really think that you are mature and can face the world. You seem to have a head on your shoulders and seem under control but how about your friends? Like 25th said, kids these days think they can do anything with no consequences. I still am having a difficult time understanding why you guys feel the urge to drink at 14-16. There's so much else to do out there when you are young. I'm starting to sound like a guidance counselor so I shall stop.

very true.

but one thing i know i will NEVER do is drink and drive becasue

1: if i wrecked my mustang i would be pissed at myself
2: i would not want to put any of my friends in danger
3: i would not want to have to live with killing someone with my car.
4: never get in a car with a drunk driver. becasue if you wreck the driver usually walks away without anything but some bumps and broses and the passenger get walked away in a body bag.

Ive seen what happens with drinking and driving.

but dose have a beer or two with you buddies going to kill you if your just kicking it watching tv with your buddies?

my mom and dad have had this type of talk with me more times then i can remember. and i know its because they care about what happens to me ect.

they have always told me that if im ever out with my buddies and the driver has been drinking that they would much rather me call them even if its 3 in the morning to come and pick me up then have to come and identify my dead body.

This is exactly what my parents do with me...I mean, they don't know that i drink outside of the house, but they've gotta assume that by now...but they are just like we'd rather have to get you at 4 in the morn than see you get into, or drive a car drunk....They give me booze at home on occasions, and like wine with dinner and stuff, but never to the point where im hammered....another thing with hard alcohol is that it creeps up on you, so unless you know what your limit is shot-wise, you really needa take it easy....thats why i drink beer 95% of the time, and i really only mix hard alcohol, i rarely take shots....

Oh, I'm sure they would, and I'm sure I'd get get in trouble, they just use it as an example to make a point. I don't think I've ever come home at 4 before, i think the latest was 2....and I never drink and drive unless I've had 3 beers or less because it just doesn't affect me...after 4 i start to get buzzed, so i stop after 3 if I'm gonna be the des. driver. I'd much rather walk home, get in trouble for drinking the next day, and have to get my car sober, than to crash my car I've spent so much time and money on. I've already had one accident, and it was like the worst day of my life, and I hope it NEVER happens again.
