Can anyone give me the deal on installing wheel spacers?In the pictures I see an extra set of holes for lugs?????Are longer lugs needed or do the spacers bolt to the old lugs and the wheels go on the lugs in the spacer?I already have the longer lugs in my axles so can I just slide on spacers and bolt up the wheels??Also whats the deal with hubcentric????Thanks for the help

what kind of spacers do you have? are they for the rear only?

I havent bought any yet.I just had my rear re-built and I had the longer lugs installed on the new axles if that helps at all.I only want to get spacers in the rear......

Most of the time the spacers (the good ones anyway) have lugs built onto them. You slide the spacers over the original lugs, put on the original lugnuts over that, then the wheel slides over the lugs on the spacer, and they should come with some lugnuts for that. Don't really know what hubcentric means.

hubcentric means the spacer will be centered with the hub(will slide over the hub circle)as opposed to just using universal ones from autozone wich (by personal experience) WILL caused vibrations, i then bought mm spacers and solved the vibration.

Wheel spacers over 1" will generally have their own lugs (or they should anyway). I would stay with a known, good name, like H&R or Eibach. The cost difference to the cheapo Ebay stuff is not really that big a deal. And do you really wanna watch your rear wheel pass you on the highway and think "man I should have dropped the extra $50 on some H&Rs?"

Ford hubs have a ring on the inner portion, towards the center from the lugs. That ring is what positively aligns the wheel on the hub. Some crap car makers omit this and instead rely on tapered lug nuts to align the wheels on the hubs. If the lugs come out of spec torque, they can fall out of alignment (and you have issues). Some cheapo wheel spacers also omit the riing. You can see the difference below. The first has no hub centric ring, the second has it.

Maximum Motorsports sells the H&R spacers and they have good instructions on how to properly install them. You can get spacers anywhere from 1" to 1 3/4" I believe. 1" spacers may require you to shave a couple threads off of each lug so that the fit is tight (top end of lug may hit the actual wheel). Otherwise, spacers like those are easy to do, just torque them properly and recheck every few months.

Damn, I have the elcheapo ones..

But, I have not had a single problem with them.. Been fast, been autocrossing, no problems.
