I've always been into cars when I was younger. As i was gettin closer to graduating college i wasn't sure what car i wanted to get until I heard my bf's Mustang. I realize that was the sound I wanted in a car...so I had to have that.

When ever I get something done on my car I'm in the shop watching and asking questions...trying not to be in the way. If it's something we can do at home, I help as much as I can. Sometimes having my girly hands sucks since they're not as strong so I can't do everything...

Rode in an Eclipse GSX and knew from then on I had to have a fast car. Rode in the same guys 98 Cobra and knew it had to be a Mustang.

Ever since I could read!!

Once I was able to understand tech articles in 4x4 and mustang magazines I figured I could fix anything.

The bug really bit when I had the head off of my '81 toyota and I was able to put it back together and get it running again! I have never felt that kind of satisfaction. Well...........

I guess I really am a gearhead. :SNSign:

I consider being into cars and being a 'gear head' two different things.

I always liked cars, vipers, ferrari's etc. Fell in love with mustangs when my neighbor got a two-tone t-top 87 GT. Finally got the money to afford another car on my own when i was 18 and i bought an 88 lx.

I turned into a gearhead the first minute i opened the hood and turned a wrench. Needed to do the alternator and i didn't want to pay someone. It was a fairly easy job and from then on i've always loved turning the wrenches myself and i take pride in doing all the mods myself.

I was born into it. My Dad was a Certified Mechanic and Transmission Tech for almost 50-years. I had to pick up on it, or be prepared to by shunned by the rest of the family. I don't think I really got all that interested in it until I was almost old enough to drive. I think I was about 15 and after getting my first vehicle (an '85 Ford Ranger 4x4) I was hooked. A few years after that it got the 5.0L/AOD transplant and the course was set to modify everything I've owned ever since.
