When to paint block ect?

I'm getting the 351 block & heads back from the machine ship next week & I want to paint the block, heads, intake, valve covers, intake & timing cover.
When is it better to paint them all?
Seperatly or put the parts on the engine or paint them after the engine is completly rebuilt with everthing installed?
I can see pros & cons about each way.
Which way did you do it?

I personally painted mine piece by piece,I dont like the look of bolts and gaskets all covered in paint.
