when to up grade axles

i got some 4:10 gears when do i need to up grade axles. i dont have much done but with 4:10 i dont want to break a axle should i go ahead and spend the money while they have my rear end apart or what til a later day

Depends on where you want to end up. If you want to be in the 10's, 9's and mostly a track car, then you may was well do it now. if you are just going to be a quick street car then the stockers will be fine as long as you stay with street tires and not going with street/drag tires. The stickier you get the harder it is on the axles.

as of right now im using nittos street tire. just mostly street racing, maybe track here and there not much. i just dont want to break an axle at the track my car is an 86 and its 20 years old but im going to weld my torque boxes for sure

well 31 spline would be extra insurance. I think F150 trucks have the carrier you need.

if i get the axles i might as well get the posi unit too for the 31 spline axles. whats a good posi unit for the street and little track use thats not going to kill my pocket book
