There's a WRX STI roaming around my area. That iv'e seen run an impressive high 9 sec at new england on a street night. Although I haven't seen it in a couple of months. The kid either crashed it or he's installing more goodies. The last time he disapered, he came back with a 9 sec car.

I've also seen a high 10 sec eagle talon turbo AWD. Only seen it at new england once and he came to seekonk speedway for the spectator drags a couple of times last year. When he launch's that car, all 4 wheels spin before it takes off. It was out of fall river, but the last thing I heard was he blew it up??

Point is. If you go to new england at the right time, you will get a good run for your money.

You asked where the Z06's were. The C6's are new and expensive so there are'nt that many out there and not everyone wants to beat on their brand new $70k car.
Here's a link to video of a new Z06 blowing the doors off a '03 cobra.
http://media.putfile.com/C6-Z06-vs-03-Cobra
Z06's RULE!!!!!
BTW. Chevy is coming out with a supercharged version of the LS7 dubbed the LS9. When it comes out it'll make 650hp in bone stock trim!!!! It is also a possability that the new camaro could end up with LS7 and LS9's as option's.

There's a lot of fast cars & bikes in my area. Just in bikes, i've seen about 7-8 turbo bikes. 2 of them are turbo hyabusa's. My buddy has a turbo busa that's mildy tuned (no dyno tune) that's putting down 350 HP to the rear wheel. It still comes up easily with an extended swing arm.

You have to catch the local ave and 1/4 mile (aka route 24) at the right time, and you'll see a lot of them.

I live in Plymouth now and there's nothing happening between here and Braintree and the cape. I heard some stuff about Taunton but its was mostly ricers so I dont even bother. I moved in from the west coast where you dont go down the street in a modded car without getting someone to honk 3 times at you a few times a night.

What area do you live?

You have to keep an ear out to hear about things around here. Everything is done on the down low. It's mostly done on streets that are dead and in low traveled area's of some industrial parks.

I know they used to go nutz in Providence, RI near the Providence Place Mall. I went there a few times to check it out. There even police cruisers joining in on some of the action. I haven't been there in a while. I believe they go at it in New Bedford, MA also.

I saw a brand new z06 like about a month ago it was on the left lane at a traffic light on a 3l ane highway and i was drooling over it so anyways a dodge shadow shelby from the late 80's pulled out on the side of the z06 and he started revving his motor( i was in the back of them with my explorer) the light turned green and the vette spinned a little and just took off, but then
me chasing in the back saw that around 40-50 mph range i estimated the shadow ripped by him about 9- 10 car lengths looked like every gear he shifted the car went sideways at this time is almost hit triple digits in the explorer, i was like dammmed a z06 got whipped bad by a turbo shadow .

are you serious MIC you are what gives mustang owners a bad name..
first you call em out and then talk about only if its good weather,
and how imports are superior in manufacturing quality..
you are the guy that talks alot of bull at the track, get your ass smoked by
a wrx, supra, or even civic and then complain how you didnt have the right setup. or misshift,or a water bottle rolled behind your gas pedal so you couldnt floor it. my examples are endless and im sure your excuses are the same way..i am BY NO MEANS and import admirer..but for you to call em all
out is plain stupid.. you would make all of us ford owners look bad...
TRUST ME.. go back in your corner and forget you ever posted this crap..

Miklowic or whatever didn't start anything remotely close to civilized. He hasn't posted in a long while, maybe he got smoked by an SRT-4.

I know, wasn't directed at your or anyone in particular. I just don't want to see it turn into a name-calling flame-fest

With an avatar like that, I can assure you I'd never start anything of the sort.

i know an 02 murcielago can beat the late 02-04 cobras by a few tenths at least and im pretty damn sure even a cheap f-40 can beat a cobra.they are imports so i guess the guy who made this thread isnt the smartest in the world.

In northwestern RI there don't seem to be any real fast imports. Or maby its import owners with enough balls to accually race a american V8 powered car. What I mean is there are alot of import cars around with fartpipe's, big wings, etc.Even some turbo cars and nitrous cars. When ever i'm out and one is behind me they ride my ass less than a foot off my bumper when theres to much traffic to do anything but when traffic thins out they back way of and I'm likeThen if I come up behind them I don't ride there ass much but just pace them staying a car lenth from their bumber the whole time. But they never really get on it. So far I have'nt been able to really open it up against any local imports and give them a reality check they need. Then there is times I may pass one in town going oppisite directions and they rev at me and then we'll meet up on the road another time with a chance to play and they don't want to do anything.
They even go buy my house and rev at me. Or they'll come up slow and then floor it
I'm stating to think that the import owners around me are just posers

...

yeah im real dumb thanks ahole

IM talking about first hand experience at the track. There are very few fast imports...even modified let alone stock or with bolt ons..

The only fast imports at etown are ones that have been completely gutted and rebuilt.

My point in starting this thread was to try and get some of these rediculously fast Suburu WRX STIs and other similar cars...you know...the ones that were compared to the CObra in certain magazines...even called an even match.. which is bs...

I just dont see many imps running under 12 seconds.. and I have yet to even have a close race with an import (AT THE DRAG STRIP)

I'll be there this coming Friday the 17th if any one wants to come race.

yeah

YES!!!!! I WAS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING!!! I'm really not anti imp. IM just starting to drum up soem trouble and a fun race with someone who has one of these supposed "fast imps" LOL HELL I drive a VOlvo WAgon with 262,000 miles on it for commuting purposes so I do have respect at least for import quality...

I was at etown last night and there were no takers. There were a few of the usual gutted completely rebuilt imports there. They all run no time...which I dont think should be allowed. but they seemed pretty fast...Also a sharp looking turbo charged Nissan Z who was fast. Beautiful car too..

BUT NO FAST off the shelf imports!!! No MITS oe Subsss that could even come close to an 03/04 cobra.. ha and road and track said they were evenly matched!! BS

UNfortunetely Street Wars was rescheduled for today instead of Sunday and I have to work..otherwise I would be there to try and find some fast imps!

Ran a new best MPH and if I had combined that with my best 60 ft would have had a new best ET

I THINK IMP owners... maybe I should say RICERS but i dont like that term...I think its all about the dyno for Import owners.... and thats dumb too.. The cobra I had a good race with runs 40+ more HP than me on the dyno and I still ran faster.
