Where can i find a Self tapping bolt??

I stripped the threads on one of my electric fan mounts, and i cant find a self tapping bolt to save my life. I tried my local hardware store and autoparts store, and still nothing. So where the heck are they??? Also is a self tapping bolt the best way to go? I didnt know if there were any other potential fixes.

a decent hardware store should have self tappers. if not, i have used used self tapping machine screws/bolts instead (you just have to fuss with getting it started). what kind of threads are you using (since it sounds like a custom jobbie with an elec fan)?
