Where can I find motor mounts

  • Sponsors (?)

Since I have all of the same books as autozone The Anchor Industries PN is:
front RH & LH87-93 Hardtop #N/A
Front Left 79-93 Hardtop #2480

Lots of other part numbers
and whats funny is when I take 2480 and flip to the ilustrated guide its nothing liek what the mount actually looks like. :D

I have one set of good mounts but there a simple mod you can do to fix them.
Mine had an allen bolt (thats really tight) Knock it lose and go to the hardware store. I found the correct stepped washer and a hex head bolt down through the mount. I now can tighten them to what stock feels like or to what solid mounts feel like........BZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am posting in this thread to prove that I did search...
and also to ask for more details on removing the rubber from the stock mounts.
These things are impossible to get at parts stores! :bang:
More than one place told me they could get the left one (but not the right) in 2 days. :notnice:
When a motor mount fails you can't wait 2 days to replace it
What good is one mount anyway :bang:
How are the convertible mounts different? Is this an option?
I am going to have to skip work tomorrow to figure this out. The car is not drivable.
I can move the engine about an inch by pushing on it. It idles like crap (I am guessing from all the vibration), and rattles something fierce
I guess it is my own fault for power shifting the n/a 2.3 so much. :nonono:

I appreciate any help

Just for future reference...

I found a set of motor mounts in a junk yard.
I am not sure of the year, but the donor car was DIS and a convertible.

The mounts bolted right in, even though the design is much different than the stock mounts in my 87 LX notch.

It appears that the j/y is the only source we have for motor mounts, so you may want to have a set of these sitting on the shelf for when you need them.
