Where did you decide to attach your FMS Voltmeter"s power and light wires?

I hear there are many choices...but where exactly did you guys splice into the light and power for these gauges? (Pillar mount: OP/Temp/Volt))

I heard that I can jam the wire in with fuses. I like that idea. Is there an ignition fuse? Would that spot produce key-on power?

Gonna dive in and mount all three tonight when it gets dark...I have lights.(you' all gonna be up? lol...I may need more help!)

Gary, you are stuck with another reply from me. The ignition wires to hit IMHO are under the steering column. If you remove the lower plastic column shroud, you will see a couple yellow wires (at least on my '88 they were yellow and of a larger gauge than surrounding gauge wires). Those should work like a charm.

Good luck.

I wanted my gauge lights to be able to dim and turn on with the stock gauges so I vampire tapped I believe the light blue with a red stripe(somebody correct me if I'm wrong) wire behind the fuse box and ran an additional 1amp inline fuse for just the gauge lights to be on the safe side.

WHat gives?????????????

Anyway, for illumination, take off the drivers side kick panel ad you'll find a big fat Green wire w/ a white stripe. Splice into that and "viola!"

We can thank Daggar for all that - I would not have had a clue how to make it all happen.

Pillar cover and gauges in, lights work now: where to go through the fire wall?

Where do I go through the fire wall to hook up the OP and Temp to the block?

I was thinking of cutting the rubber that the steering collumn goes through or the rubber grommet on the upper driver's side that has the harness going through it.

I can't see where to drill.

Hissin I am grateful for your replies...I got the lights to work with wires in with the radio fuse to power voltmeter and lights dim nicely with the wire in #13 like you said.
