where does the ground go?

I'm looking to replace the negative battery cable on my 87 lx 5.0L and i'm wondering where the battery cable is bolted to, and how long it is

Part of it clips to a connector by the battery, the rest of it goes to the other side of the block, just follow the line.

I believe it grounds to the driver side block or head, just under the A/C compressor.

The battery ground? I came in here thinking maybe you were looking for the ground when you were leaving the line dragging the bumper

any idea how long it is? i just need the length of the lines coming from the negative terminal of the battery, mine's cracked open and corroded to hell
