I'm getting a P0305 code stating that Cylinder #5 is misfiring. How are the cylinders numbered on a 2000 GT? Is it as you're facing inside the engine bay start counting from the passenger side closest to you 1-4.. and on the driver's side 4-8?

What could be causing the misfiring? I have Denso Iridium IT20 spark plugs and have had them in for 1 year with about 9,000 miles on them. I was going to try swapping #5 spark plug with the #6 to see if the code follow the spark plug or not.

It is coil on plug, right???

I am not sure so I will assume it is. The Haynes manual tells how to check COP coils with multi tester. Not very hard really... Maybe the connector is intermittently loose that connects to the coil. Unplug it, put some silicone dielectric compound in the connector, and reconnect the coil. Make sure it is firmly connected.
