I need a recommendation on where you guys think is the best place to buy engine parts. The 66 I brought had a rebuilt 289, engine only, no carb, distributor, etc. I need to buy alot, but do not have the knowledge to pick out the items myself.

Whom would you recommend to talk to, that can show the patience, and know how to help me purchase the items I need, but at the same time not take advantage of me.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

I would say give us your engine specs and we can help you pick the right one so you don't have the knowledge when you go shopping. I'm like most performance people and have a msd or similar type setup with distributor, coil, and box. As for the carb is it 2 or 4 barrel? Stock or upgraded?

The car has a rebuilt 289, never started. The old gent I brought it from said he asked for a cam with a little extra omfph, no documents to prove it. The manifold on the engine is an Edelbrock Performer 289. It also has a water pump, that is it.

I know I need at least, fuel pump, carb (I want to do a 4 bbl), distributor and coil, I want the least maintence and best power, fuel pump - electrical or manual???? Fan, shroud, I brought a new 3 row radiator already. Good alternator, I was looking for a single wire one. I guess everything.
