Here is the problem, I put a battery relocation kit in yesterday. In order to do so i had to drop the fuel tank down a little bit. So that's what i did. I didn't disconnect anything at all. Then i proceeded to put my battery kit in. After i got done installing that i mounted the fuel tank back where it needed to be. I go to start my car and the fuel pump is not priming. I checked the inertia switch and nothing is wrong with that and the pump itself is not that old either. The only thing that i can think of that is wrong is maybe the fuse popped but i don't know where it is. I checked all of the fuses that are under the steering wheel, but i cannot find the fuse box that is suppose to be under the hood. Where is it? Can anyone help? Thanks -Don

It's a relay and on 87-91, it's under the drivers seat...it's connected to a metal bracket, which you can unbolt and pull forward..there's your relay. However, given your situation, i'd be willing to guess that it's not the fuel pump relay at all and it's probably a wiring disconnection, etc. When you dropped the tank, you could have pulled a wire loose or something.

Replacing the relay wouldn't hurt, but i'd definately check the wiring back there as well. You could get a voltmeter and stab the power and ground wire...I think power is pink. See if you get voltage when you turn the key on...you wouldn't have voltage for very long as the pump only primes when you turn the key. A friend could help w/ this.

as said, check the relay. probe each terminal to see what you are missing. remember too, that if you dont have the main power feed to the relay socket (common terminal), there is a fusible link off the starter solenoid.

good luck.
